Members’ Dining Room 1

Originally the Parliament’s billiards room, the exposed red brick interior of Members’ Dining Room 1 is very different in character to the rest of the building. Includes an outdoor terrace space and views to Australian Parliament House.

Members’ Dining Room 2

The Members’ Dining Room 2 features a high ceiling, clerestory windows and distinctive light fittings, and was the main dining room for the exclusive use of parliamentarians. Includes an outdoor terrace space and views to Australian Parliament House.

Members’ Dining Room 3

Members’ Dining Room 3 was originally a lounge for the exclusive use of members and senators, features two original skylights and includes an outdoor terrace space and views to Australian Parliament House.

Full Members’ Dining Room

Full Members’ Dining Room This space was originally a large banquet hall created by opening the doors between Members’ Dining Rooms 1, 2 and 3, when the parliament hosted royalty, heads of state, ambassadors and other significant visitors. Includes an outdoor terrace space and views to Australian Parliament House

Members’ Bar

The Members’ Bar was long restricted to parliamentarians only. The space retains the original timber paneling throughout, a beautiful skylight and one of the last remaining heritage-listed bars in Australia.

Private Dining Room 1

Private Dining Room 1 is a bright room with an in-built data projector and screen, with the option to partition the room.

Private Dining Room 2

Featuring an original paint scheme from 1927 revealed under Perspex, Private Dining Room 2 includes its own bar space, kitchen and an outdoor terrace space.

King’s Hall

King’s Hall forms a gracious central hub in Old Parliament House and features a tall coffered ceiling, clerestory windows, white plaster walls with intricate mouldings, colonnades, decorative skylights and a highly polished parquet floor. 

House of Representatives Chamber

The House of Representatives Chamber is a very special space to experience while at Old Parliament House. Sit in the room (and indeed, on the exact seats) where generations of MPs shaped Australia.

Senate Chamber

The Senate Chamber is a very special space to experience while at Old Parliament House. Sit in the room (and indeed, on the exact seats) where generations of senators shaped Australia. 

House of Representatives Courtyard

The House of Representatives Courtyard is a stunning outdoor space which features an original timber pergola, two impressive poplar trees and an original fountain.

Senate Courtyard

Hoi Polloi restaurant occupies a space historically utilised as the Non-Members’ Bar during the Parliamentary period 1927 - 1988. It was an infamous haunt for staffers, media and service workers alike, and is now a venue steeped in history and secrets. 

Secretariat

The Secretariat includes a beautiful heritage listed sofa and cabinet as part of the furnishings and was once the cards-playing room used with the Members’ Bar. 

Hoi Polloi

Terrace Cafe

The Terrace Café features sweeping views over the lake, across to the War Memorial and beyond to Mount Ainslie, the venue is ideal for cocktails or small dinners with pre-drinks out on the terrace.

Pumpkin Room

The Pumpkin Room features a wall of windows overlooking the House of Representatives Courtyard.
